Of all the cat pictures that I have taken, photographing cheetahs running are the most challenging. I wanted to get a picture of a cheetah running toward the camera. Even though I was photographing the cats at a wildlife sanctuary during their morning exercise session, it was still very difficult to get a good photograph of them on the run. At 70 miles per hour, you don't have much time to capture the image. I did get some pictures of a cheetah hunting while at the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania and you can see them on my site, but I have yet to get that ultimate hunting picture. I also have cheetah images of 6 month old cubs, but am yet to acquire any pictures of baby cheetahs. I go back to Africa every two years, so hopefully I will have some of those images very soon.

These cats are very special to me in part due to the kind of cat that they are and partly because cheetahs are endangered, so I hope that we can raise enough awareness to encourage proactive change so they don't become extinct. While I was in South Africa I created the below cheetah video to help raise awareness.
